Parts 1 and 2 of OUR CULTURE, French ska musician Fred Skarface's series of photobooks celebrating skinheads (the non-political ones), psychos (psychobillies), mods, punks and related cultures (I list these loosely in order of seeming importance to Skarface, who himself is a punk turned skinhead—a common transformation). Also covered are tattoos, scooters and music. The subjects are from around Europe (some from Skarface's shows) as well as a few from America. Very few copies in OCLC (Part 1 only at the Met's Watson Library and Part 2 at the Watson Library and Harvard). Part 3 would be published several years later in 2002.
"This book is certainly not a key for our strange world. It's just a book for the eyes, a book for the peoples who know already what we're talking about. The others are not so interesting anyway..."
